Austyne Duru

Engr. Austyne DURU is an avid volunteer for good causes and has remained consistent with his maverick-styled pragmatism about Nigeria, Business, Engineering, ICT, Energy, Electricity, and STEM. He belongs to a number of discussion fora that champions his various interest areas but primarily leads the NSE VI Branch driven Off-Grid Power Solutions forum on WhatsApp. He continues to play leadership roles for societal benefits including but not limited to Old Students (BoT Secretary, Reservation Secondary School Tolu Alumni Association), Professional Body (Member, ICT Industry Committee of NIEEE Lagos Chapter), Residential Community (Financial Secretary at Dolphin Estate Association Ikoyi – Lagos), Corporate World (Wealth Committee Member at Airtel Networks Cooperative Society), Student Body (Financial Secretary of Society of EEE Students in FUT Owerri), Religious Body (General Secretary, Altar Servers Association of St. Charles Catholic Church Olodi-Apapa, Lagos), Secondary School (Class Captain, Reservation Secondary School Tolu, Olodi-Apapa, Lagos), and Primary School (Assistant Senior Prefect, Oluwa Primary School, Olodi-Apapa, Lagos).

Engr. Austyne DURU is passionate about changing the narrative of his immediate and remote communities. His “Austyne DURU’s Award for Excellence” at FUT Owerri, Nigeria has been operating since 2010 and remained focused on encouraging best male & female students of Electrical & Electronic Engineering department. He is the Executive Director of GIVERS Educational Foundation – an NGO/NPO with a mission to provide textbooks on Maths, English, and Science to all Basic Schools pupils in Nigeria. The STEM support programme started in 2015 with textbooks provided for pupils at Oluwa Primary School, Olodi-Apapa in AJIF LGA of Lagos State.

At MODULUS, Engineer Austyne DURU is actively pursuing Energy Service Company (ESCo) business aka Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with residential, commercial, and industrial energy consumers. He is also pursing public infrastructure development opportunities like Street Lighting, Traffic Control Lights, Security Cameras et al. He remains a consultant to the Telecoms industry giants like AIRTEL, IHS, MTN, HUAWEI, ZTE and several tier-B Service Providers. Many of his ideas & postulations on Electric Power Sector, ICT Sector, and Telecoms Industry are direct learning from his experience of having lived all his life in Nigeria, his research works including a paper on Off-Grid Power Solutions, as well as exposure to business, and his ICT industry background.
